Shared Interest 17th Anniversary Award

On March 14, 2011, Calvert Foundation (along with Calvert Investments) was honored for Pioneering Social Investment in South Africa. Shared Interest, a leading non-profit social investment fund, paid tribute to the two pioneering financial institutions for investing in the well-being of South Africa's low-income communities and advancing economic and social rights. The award recognized Calvert Foundation for its commitment to socially responsible investment to rebuild and serve South Africa's poor communities.

NeighborWorks America's Most Generous Social Investors for 2009

Calvert Foundation was honored as one of the Most Generous Social Investors for 2009 by NeighborWorks America at the NeighborWorks Training Institute in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, December 9, 2010.

Microfinance Recognition Award

Calvert Foundation received the top honor in the "Innovative Social Impact Investing" category of the Microfinance Recognition Awards, sponsored by Hanson Wade and announced during a dinner at the Investment and Innovation in Microfinance conference held October 26-27 in Washington, DC.

Runner-Up, Financial Times/IFC Sustainable Investor of the Year Award

In June 2010, Calvert Foundation was named runner-up in the "Sustainable Investor of the Year" category, part of a series of annual sustainability awards offered by the global financial-industry newspaper The Financial Times and its partner IFC.

Pro-Bono Grant Recipient from APCO Worldwide

In January 2010, Calvert Foundation received a pro-bono grant for free communications consulting from global, women-owned public relations and communications firm APCO Worldwide.

 

Social Capitalist Awards

Social Capitalist Award

Calvert Foundation has received the Fast Company/Monitor Group Social Capitalist Award for 2006, 2007, and 2008 in recognition of being one of the top entrepreneurs "changing the world." The Social Capitalist Award is the only honor that judges nonprofit organizations on innovation, sustainability and social impact.

Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation

Calvert Foundation was the third place recipient for the 2008 Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation. The award is given annually in recognition of programs that have made a real difference in the lives of the people they serve.

Wachovia Innovation Award

Calvert Foundation was one of just four groups to be honored in 2006 in the Seventh Annual Wachovia Excellence Awards for Opportunity Finance, presented by the Opportunity Finance Network (OFN). Calvert Foundation was singled out for praise as a national leader for innovation.

Building Economic Alternatives, awarded by Co-op America Quarterly

Selected by the staff of Co-op America (now Green America), Calvert Foundation was recognized in 2003 for its pioneering efforts to popularize community investment as a new asset class.
