The project started late last year, as it became clear that our website could better serve our key stakeholders—social enterprises and nonprofits, impact investors, financial advisors, and the impact investing community as a whole.
Through discussions, surveys, and several rounds of iteration, we have worked to create an experience to meet the diverse needs of the Calvert Foundation community.
Notably, a revised impact section brings forward the impact that our portfolio partners, our community of 6,500+ investors, and we are creating in communities around the world. This includes easier to find impact investing success stories from our portfolio partners, and an impact map to see where they work geographically. We hope that our portfolio partners use this as a tool to promote their work to a wider audience of investors and those interested in the program areas they work in.
Investors should have an easier time finding key information about the Community Investment Note and understanding the different ways they can target their Notes. One suggestion that kept coming up from everyone we talked to was the importance of showing the connection between our investors and the impact they create. We responded by weaving together the issue areas we work in with appropriate investment opportunities and the impact created.
We also brought forward the financial advisor directory to connect advisors offering the Community Investment Note and those looking to invest for impact.
Organizations interested in community development financing can now apply directly through the site, streamlining the process at both ends.
