Pacifica Co-Housing in Carrboro, NC is one example of this. Pacifica Co-Housing Development is a community focused on both communal lifestyle and environmental stewardship. Through the use of solar panels, passive solar heating, gray water and other environmental innovations, this community minimizes its collective environmental footprint. In addition to helping the environment, Pacifica also reserves units as affordable housing for low-income families.
