Empowering Investors to Empower Communities

JULY 2013

Dear Friends,

Spaceship launchEarly this month we launched the new Calvert Foundation website!

Throughout the redesign process we worked to create an experience to meet the diverse needs of the Calvert Foundation community.

Notably, a revised impact section brings forward the impact that our portfolio partners, our community of 6,500+ investors, and we are creating in communities around the world. This includes easier to find impact investing success stories from our portfolio partners, and an impact map to see where they work geographically.

Investors should have an easier time finding key information about the Community Investment Note and understanding the different ways they can target their Notes.

We also brought forward the financial advisor directory to connect advisors offering the Community Investment Note and those looking to invest for impact.

Finally, we've added more information about upcoming impact investing events, a page for impact investing resources, and a press room for journalists and bloggers.

This was truly a team effort, and I'm grateful to everyone who contributed. As we continue empowering investors to empower communities, the website will be one of the key ways that we communicate our impact. If there are ways we can do that better, feel free to email us your suggestions!

Investment Spotlight

Gulf Coast Housing Partnership photoWe recently increased our investment in Gulf Coast Housing Partnership (GCHP) to $1 million. GCHP is using the financing to cover the acquisition, pre-development, and working capital costs associated with the purchase and development of residential and commercial property in Gulf Coast communities. Established in 2006, GCHP facilitates affordable, sustainable, and economically vibrant communities in the Gulf Coast region. It acquires and assembles key properties, packages development financing, coordinates and manages the actual development process, and ensures the ongoing success of the developed properties. GCHP can also provide financing to the projects that it controls. Learn more about GCHP
